It was narrated from Abu Umamah Al-Bahili, Messenger of Allah said:
إن الله وملائكته وأهل السماوات والأرض حتى النملة في جحرها وحتى الحوت ليصلون على معلم الناس الخير
Allah, His angels, and inhabitants of the heavens and the earth, even the ant in its nest, so also with the fish; They pray for those who teach in human welfare. "[Tirmidhi]

Sheikh Al-Zarnuji said: Although the prosecution of science have toiled in search of knowledge, but many of them do not benefit from their knowledge. This is due to errors in the way of the pursuit of knowledge, and waiver of conditions in the pursuit of knowledge for anyone going the wrong way, it will get lost and will not reach the goal. Among the conditions that are often ignored by the prosecution of science today is less do not even respect the teacher. It is not possible to know all that without the guidance of a teacher. So true words of scholars:
لولا المربي, ما عرفت ربي
If there is not a teacher, I would not know my Lord [the Book Hikmatul Isyraq]
How excellent a teacher to Sayyidina Ali who was named as the city of science, said:
أنا عبد من علمنى حرفا واحدا, إن شاء باع, وإن شاء استرق
I am the slave of someone to teach me a letter, if they want, they can sell and if they want, they can make me as his slave. [Ta'limul Muta'allim]
Imam Ahmad taking knowledge of Imam Shafi'i that he said: If the problem is not that I met then I decided haditsnya the words of Imam Shafi'i law. [Siyar A'lamin Nubala '] And in return Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal said:
إني لأدعو الله للشافعي في صلاتي منذ أربعين سنة, أقول: اللهم اغفر لي ولوالدي ولمحمد بن إدريس الشافعي
I pray al-Imam al-Shafi'i in my prayers for forty years. I prayed, "God forgive me, my parents and Muhammad ibn Idris al-Shafi'i." [Al-Baihaqi, Manaqib al-Imam al-Shafi'i]
Once Habib Umar Bin Abdurrahman Al-Atthas (Organizer Ratib Al-Atthas) was sitting with his students and one of them named Ali Barash being massaged her feet. He told the students: "We've got a special guest of the Prophet Khidr and now he was in the gate lodge". So once the students rushed to welcome the presence of the Prophet Khidr except Ali Barash, he remained calm massage teacher. Habib Umar said to Ali: "O Ali, why do not you follow the students to another?" Ali said: "O my master, the Prophet Khidr came to see you, for what I pull my hand away from your feet, because your position as a teacher in my eyes is much more precious than the Prophet Khidr". Hearing this answer, Habib Umar is ridlo to his student and he said: "There will be also received gifts from anyone for me except Fatihah followed by the name of Ali Barash".
Praise is to God!
So what about us? Have
we honored our teachers where we are taking knowledge from them? Have
we positioned the teacher as that of Sheikh Ali Barash? Have
we pray for them as was done by Imam Ahmad told As-Shafi? Astagfirullah
... How stinginess science student teachers of this age let alone glorify, they
declined to name the teacher as a source of knowledge, but therein lies the
blessing of science. Abdrurrahman
Jalaluddin bin Abu Bakar said:
ومن بركة العلم وشكره عزوه إلى قائله
Among the blessings of science and grateful to exist is to attribute every word spoken. [Kitab Al-Muzhir]
The loss was due to the blessing of a seeker of knowledge has become a liar, Hear the word of the Prophet:
المتشبع بما لم يعط كلابس ثوبى زور
"People who look for something that is not given to him as if the person wearing two garments of falsehood". [Bukhari] Even some scholars who believe that such actions including sariqah (theft) because he had taken something that is not right. It is also considered as a fraud because he deceived others by forming the opinion that it is the result of his labor itself. And Allaah knows best. May we be a people who honor our teachers and their knowledge so that each of us has the right to obtain useful knowledge in the world and in the hereafter. Let us pray for our teachers that they always get the protection and blessing of God Almighty,
Lahumul Fatihah.
